GM has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Chevrolet HHR Wagon. They stated the recall was due to a problem with the storage bin latch. During testing, a storage bin in the top center of the instrument panel failed to remain closed as required by Federal safety standards.
GM said owners of the HHR wagon affected by this recall would be sent a latch reinforcement and instructions for how to replace it. Owners also may be allowed to bring their vehicles into their local Chevrolet dealer and have them install the part.
GM said this recll is to start in November 2008. Owners may contact Chevrolet with any questions at 1-800-630-2438 or on the internet at http://www.gm.com/recall.
