GM has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 C Series Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC Topkick trucks equipped with caterpillar C9 diesel engines. They stated that the fuel pump outlet check plug may be cracked which could cause fuel to spray and leak.
Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. General Motors is working with Caterpillar. Caterpillar will replace the fuel pump plug free of charge. Owners may contact Caterpillar at 1-800-447-4986, Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, GMC at 1-866-996-9463 or GM owner center at MYGMLINK, http://www.gm.com/recalls.
