Ford has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Lincoln MKX and Lincoln Mkk all wheel drive vehicles. The fuel tank weld fixture may have been exposed to a containment during production which could cause a dimple in the bottom of the fuel tank at a spot weld.
The dimple could result in a fuel leak or a fuel drip from the tank. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel tank free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during July 2008. Owners may contact Ford at 1-866-437-7332.

iam the owner of a 2007 mkz. i love the car but iam starting to have problems.this is my second MKZ.The first car that i chose was pulled from me by the dealership because of serious problems. i then chose the car i have now. while i enjoy this car i sense there are going to be problem after problem.the dealership seems not to anxious to trade me out of this car .i would like to know why? my credit should be excellent with ford credit.i can afford to trade. (by the way iam looking at the MKS.) my thoughts are that for some reasons the dealership is not too anxious for me to get rid of the MKZ.I HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF THE MKZ .i want to know what is going on. are there any recalls, something is not adding up. please give me some answers.if iam not satisfied and this becomes a big problem i promise you I WILL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN.ALSO I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FORD TO ANYONE. SINCERELY MR. JOHNNY N. SMITH Jr. 910 790 0004 wilmington,n.c. 28403
