Nissan has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2007 through 2008 Nissan Sentra. They stated that there is a faulty brake cylinder that may leak. The faulty brake cylinder may lead to a gap that will leak fluid into the brake booster assembly, causing the brake warning light to light up. If the warning light is ignored, one of the brake circuits on the vehicle may not operate as designed, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall is expected to begin on July 23, 2008. Dealerships will replace the faulty parts free of charge. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-Nissan-1, ot at www.nissanusa.com.
