Chrysler on Tuesday announced a global recall of 212,347 Chrysler Sebrings and Dodge Avengers, including nearly 15,000 in Canada, to fix electrical connectors.
The company says the connectors in the engines may become corroded and short-circuit, causing engine stalling, dead batteries and failing cruise control. No accidents or injuries have been reported though the company has received nine reports of engines failing.
The recall affects model year 2007 and 2008 cars with tire pressure monitoring systems.
Dealers will begin repairing the connectors in mid-April.
