The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission on Wednesday recalled about 480 Ski-Doo snowmobiles made by Canada’s Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. because of a crash hazard.
The commission has recalled Ski-Doo model year 2008 MXZ X 600 RS snowmobiles sold at Ski-Doo dealers nationwide during November for about $9,500. A defect in the carburetor can prevent the throttle from returning to the idle position, the commission said, which can result in an unexpected loss of control leading to collision. There have been three reports of snowmobiles with stuck throttles. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers are advised to stop using the vehicles and to contact any Ski-Doo retailer for a free repair.
