You may want to look at the Recall portion of the site and see if anyone else is having an issue.

I'm currently having problems with my Tundra V6 mileage performance. The Tundra V6 specs say this vehicle should get 17 to 20 miles/gallon, but after the first six weeks where performance did meet specifications, the mileage thereafter dropped to 13.5 miles/gallon where it's stayed for the last three months. I've checked everything while keeping meticulous records.

The dealer tells me not to worry. They say it's the engine braking in and by 6,000 miles the performance will be back up to specs at 17 to 20 miles/gallon. But I'm not buying that explanation--it simply doesn't make sense. No where does Toyota warn new car buyers to expect a 25% drop in gas mileage performance for the first 6,000 miles while the engine is braking in.

I suspect that there is a malfunctioning computerized sensor that is not showing up as faulty on their diagnostic tests. Meanwhile, I'm being made to feel like I'm unreasonable to expect the vehicle to perform up to specifications. It's unfortunate that Toyota has not made a more pro-active effort to solve this problem. Anyone out there having similar problems?
